When and How Did You Meet
We are high school sweethearts. We started dating in 10th grade.
Tell Us About the Proposal
After 11.5 years I thought for sure we were going to eternally be boyfriend and girlfriend until this guy surprised me like he always does! On June 12, we were planning to go down by the beach to have dinner and see Jurassic World. He insisted we go check out this park at the far end of the beach (Bowditch Point), and I reluctantly obliged. I was only reluctant because I was starving haha – We walked around this beautiful nature path and because it had just rained the beach at the end was empty. We were walking around and joking about the shape of my promise ring (which we have done a thousand times) because it is now misshapen to literally fit ONLY my finger. After the joke I turn around and Justin is on one knee asking me if I’d like a new ring! My first thought and yes I said this out loud was “are you serious?!” and after he confirmed that he was – I SAID YES!! and I couldn’t be happier to be marrying my best friend!
Tell Us About the Look / Theme / Style
The colors were gray and yellow with a “classy, rustic” look!
What Inspired the Vision
We come from a small town and are very proud of that. We want to pay homage to the feel good, outdoor lives that we enjoy living.
What Made Your Wedding Unique
The length of our relationship and the number of people we were lucky enough to surround ourselves with!
What Moment Do You Recall the Most
I looked forward to the ceremony. My uncle had recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he was our officiant so being able to share that magical moment with so many wonderful people was great.
Anything Else That Deserves to Be Told
Justin and I both had pendants (me on my flowers, he in his pocket) with photos of our grandfathers who had passed before the wedding. We also had a large hand-drawn photo of them that was drawn by Justin’s mother. We also had a golfball shaped groom’s cake with a “3” on it because that is how old our basset hound is!
