Be sure to leave a comment for this lovely couple at the bottom!
I put a charm on my bouquet with his picture and “walk with me dad” on it in his memory.

When and How Did You Meet
August 2011, we met at work. We worked at a group home for troubled teenagers. We cooked for them, helped them complete their activities for daily living and had fun with them!
Tell Us About the Proposal
Buttermilk Falls, Indiana, PA, June 11, 2015, we were walking underneath the waterfall and he got down on one knee and proposed. He filmed the whole thing on his trail camera that he attached to a tree. He went out that morning, put the camera on the tree, and wrote “please don’t steal my camera. I am proposing to my girlfriend and I want to get it all on camera.” And he did.
Tell Us About the Look / Theme / Style
I wanted to go for a unique yet elegant look. I always loved the navy blue/orange combination of colors, so I used those. Gold was a tertiary color that really brought it all together. I wanted a theme that wasn’t cliche, but traditional at the same time. I used wine bottles and flowers for the centerpieces, and I had an old suitcase for the card box, and window shutters for my memory board. I wasn’t going for rustic or vintage, but I feel like I did combine those two to make a new unique theme of my own.
What Inspired the Vision
I did a lot of research on Pinterest (naturally!) So that combined with some ideas of my own really made for the perfect vision.
What Made Your Wedding Unique
As cliche as it sounds, I wanted my wedding to be fun. I cut corners financially in some areas so more guests could be invited. I moved the time of my reception so my guests could relax in getting there. We tried to accommodate our guests as much as possible and I think we did a pretty good job!
What Moment Do You Recall the Most
The moment I remember the most was seeing my hubby as I started to walk down the aisle!
Anything Else That Deserves to Be Told
My father died seven and a half years ago, and of course I wanted to incorporate him as much as possible with my wedding. At the time, only alum, grandparents or parents could get married at Heinz Chapel. Neither my husband or his family attended Pitt, and the only person who did in my family was my dad. When we got word that we would be married there, I was esctatic. Even though my dad couldn’t be present with us at my wedding, he gave us the beautiful gift of our ceremony venue, which we all know is timeless. Because of him, I got married there. And I am so forever grateful for that. I put a charm on my bouquet with his picture and “walk with me dad” on it in his memory.
